Geographic and climate specifications of district 22 of municipality of Tehran
District 22 of municipality of Tehran located in North East of city of Tehran from Longitude 51°5’10” E to 51°20’40” and Latitude 35°32’16” to 35°57’19” underneath the watery zoon of Kan and Vardij rivers. From north it limited to Centeral Alborz mountains, from east to Kan river, from south to Tehran-Karaj highway and to the planting Vardavard forest form West. This area are neighbored by district 21 and district 5 of municipality of Tehran and … the north border of district 22 has been expanded to 1800 altitude at the outmost southern hillside of Alborz mountains. Since the last 3 decades Alborz mountains which … the city like a curve barricade surrounded the geographical space of Tehran, and from 1800 altitude create a giant obstacle against physical expansion of city’s space because of the great slope and mountain’s bottleneck. The highest altitude area in district 22 located at the Alborze mountain in the straight line of the north catchment, somewhere in the east of Kigar village with altitude of 3840 meters and the lowest one is in the Peykanshahr exit with altitude of 1220 metesr. The extent of this area includining it’s high ground are about 54000 hectares with the approximate length and width of 26 and 17 kilometers. The distance between the outmost eastern point of district 22 and Karaj area is 11 kilometers. The route of Kan river which is from north to south is extended in the entire eastern border of the area after the exit point. This river also act as a destination for eastern border’s surface waters which are connected with it by the diversions kennels. Paralleled to Kan, Vardavard river also flow from north to south. The north part of Vardavard river runs through the west of middle area which become the western border of area in the downstream. The average distance between these two rivers is 10 kilometers.
Comparing the area of District 22 (70750 Hectares) with other districts of Tehran shows that at least 8.4 percent of Tehran’s services space belong to this region which is an indication of the significant vastness and important position of this area in the skeletal structure of future Tehran, especially in the western region. Generally the prevailing during the years, regardless of day or night, is the west wind. Regarding to the position of District 22 ( 35° 41’ E) the angle of sun in the lowest status in the year is 32 degrees and in the highest status is 78 degrees. Total amount of rainfall in District 22 are 281 millimeters per years, which 43 percent of it (Max) are at winter and 36 percent (Min) are at spring. Direction of Mecca in District 22 is 33 degrees of southwest. This area located in Chitgar field witch is a part of Tehran Dashtsar domain. Geological studies show that this area built by compressed deposits which came and settled down from southern hillside of Albors mountains. There is a vast underground water stream in the thickness of alluvial deposits. The general slope is north to south and these lands are in the second zone of earthquake.
Regarding the primary result of census in 2006, the amount of population is 138970 bodies.
